Stand On The Line-Take a Stand-Stand Up Teacher

This is a group energizer activity. Using masking tape, the teacher/facilitator will create a line on the floor of the classroom. It will need to be a long enough line that at least half the class could stand on. Ask half of the class to stand about three feet away from the line, on one side. Ask the other half of the class to stand approximately three feet away from the other side of the line. Statements or questions will be read aloud. Instruct students to listen to each statement/question and to simply stand on the line if the statement applies to them. Allow enough time for students to step back from the line before the next statement is read. This activity can also be done at desks and students would just “stand up” when a statement/question applies to them rather than standing on a line.
