Team Challenge Student Training
This is a teaching/learning strategy. Divide the class into groups of four. Two students (team A) will sit across the table from the other two students (team B). Provide each group of four with one deck of cards. Note - cards are from Ace to 6 only. In addition, provide each team with a STIs Team Challenge Q & A booklet. Tell students to assign one scorekeeper from each team. Points are listed after each question. When it is a team’s turn, they will draw a card. If they draw the three of spades, the other team will look on the question booklet and will ask the question related to the three of spades. If the team gets the answer right, they will get the points listed after the question and the card will be removed from the deck. If they get it wrong, the card goes to the bottom of the deck. After one try, whether they get the answer wrong or right, it will be the next team’s turn to draw a card. Teams continue until the entire deck has been used or until the time is up for the activity (whichever comes first). At the end of the game, teams should add up their scores to see who wins the game.
