Zoom Zoom Brake Student Training
This is a group energizer activity. Have students sit in a circle for this activity and explain that this activity involves the word “zoom” travelling around the circle. The teacher/facilitator will start by saying “zoom” and will look to the person on their right, who will repeat “zoom”. This continues quickly around the circle. After going around the circle once, encourage participants to try to make the “zoom” travel as fast as possible. Next, one facilitator will demonstrate “brake” by substituting “zoom” for “brake” when it is their turn. The rules are that each person gets to brake once. When someone brakes, the “zoom” reverses direction and goes the opposite way around the circle. If time permits, give everyone a chance to brake.
